"Our trip to work with the Hayes family was a true highlight of our year. We went there not quite knowing what to expect, and came away realizing that the things we think are important are not really that important. These children are happy at the home. They enjoy playing with stick, stones, and using whatever they have available to play ball, or even knit. They do not need to be entertained with all that we think is important.

God has truly used the Hayes family to take care of the people there. Not only the children, but the adults that have medical and physical needs. We feel like we were a part of taking care of the needs while we were with them.

While we were in Africa we had the opportunity to visit a local High School to see their opening exercises. It was very impressive and touching. They began the day by singing the Zimbabwe national anthem. That was followed by a song that expressed that Jesus is number One! They closed their opening by saying together the Lord's Prayer.

Jack [Tanner] was invited to speak to the kids which caught him totally off guard. He had no idea what to say, so he expressed greetings from the United States of America. He then told them that their opening exercise was very impressive. And then he thanked them for their warm hospitality. When he was finished one of the teachers expressed that she was disappointed that he didn't say anything from the Word Of God. Can you imagine, speaking to public school students from the Word of God. They invited him to come back and speak from God's Word the day before we left!
